Sustainability is not enough: we need regenerative cultures

"It seems our current theory of change has us stuck in discussing strategies within a problem-solving mindset that predisposes us towards abstraction and the habit of “solving” problems in isolation from each other and from the places where we propose to implement “solutions”.

What if we focused on being differently now? What if we re-perceived who we are and identified more with life as a planetary process of interbeing? What if we aimed for being in right relationship to self, community and life? What if we focused on our individual and collective potential of being and becoming healing and nurturing expressions of place? What if we dropped the dysfunctional habit of trying to solve abstract global problems and scaling-up solutions? What if we focused instead on our potential to create conditions conducive to life in co-evolving mutuality with the places and communities that are the ground of our being?"

  Joy of Simplicity Our work is based on the shamanic belief that there are three planes of existence: the Upperworld, the Middleworld, and the Underworld. For too long we have focused on the Middleworld, or the physical plane and its materialistic and egocentric pursuits. Knowledge of The Self.

Remember that a boundary is set with love. (LOVE not inauthentic fake niceness) It is never aggressive. It is never dramatic. It is never hurtful. In the experience that I had, I told my friend that this action she had taken meant that I had reached my tipping point and that given our conversation last year, it meant that this was the end of our friendship.   I don't hate her.  I don't resent her.  I don't wish her bad. In fact, I still have a deep love and appreciation towards her and genuinely desire for her business to flourish.  Ethically, morally, spiritually and with grounded integrity.  I just no longer have a space for her personal unethical choices and behaviours towards myself (and others, including staff and business partners) and the kind of standards and authentic connections that I'm committed to creating.
